Marriage.

Don't worry! Nothing has changed since I waxed lyrical about all of the weddings/engagements that have popped up in my line of vision in the last six months or so. No marriage plans here. :P

But, I did read an interesting Facebook note drafted by my childhood friend (and crush) Jack, the son of the pastor who worked at St. Stephen's when Mom, Lauren, KJ, and I left the Catholic church after Mom and Dad's divorce. He was writing, not specifically about marriage itself, but about his own impatience to move from 'transitional relationships' (dating) to marriage, which is something Betsy and I have been talking about at length recently--something I don't think I've ever mentioned here.

Betsy and I are in no rush to just BE MARRIED. We just know that we're both mature enough (out of our separate and very different relationship experiences) and both desire to take the next step to be wives and mothers. We both know we'd be good at it. We both know we're made for it. Betsy was closer than I EVER have been to making that happen, so she's not exactly keen on being back at Square One (and we all know how I've felt about that in my much tinier setbacks), and I know that God is preparing the right man for me right NOW (Scary! :P), and in my past relationship endeavors (I said PAST), I've always been the more mature, conscious half. I'm sick of screwing around with 'dating' in so many ways.

I'm not an idiot. I know I have to date in order to get a boyfriend in order to get a fiancee in order to get married (this is a simplified pattern, of course). I'm just impatient (shocking, I know :P). I just want that proper fit.

In other news, Melissa is visiting for the weekend! :D She was supposed to call and come over this afternoon between apartment tours, but that obviously isn't happening at this point, as her next one is at 4 (AKA now) and I'll soon be getting ready to see the Pens whoop the Red Wings (I hope! We can do it!).

Hope you're all wearing your black and gold! :)

Love,

-A.
